Hi, I'm Ngigi.
I'm a tech lead based in Nairobi. I started out designing interfaces, moved into back-end infrastructure, and now spend most of my time building AI automations that sit on top of both.
That path shapes how I work. When I build something, I'm thinking about three things at once: the person using it, the server running it, and the workflow it replaces. Most problems I'm asked to solve live where those three meet.
Right now
I lead technology at a tech training institution in Nairobi. Day to day, that means AI agents that help the admissions team answer applicants, a chatbot that guides new learners through onboarding, a move to a new learning platform, and the infrastructure, documentation and processes that keep it all running.
Alongside that, I build for freelance clients: AI sales agents, e-commerce platforms, product designs and websites for organisations in Kenya and Australia. If you have one in mind, I'd like to hear about it.

AI automation, DevOps and platform UX across admissions, learning and operations.
How I work
- Automate the boring, not the judgement.
- AI handles the repetitive parts. People keep the decisions that matter.
- Document as I build.
- Every system ships with a runbook, a go-live plan and a named owner, so it outlives the project.
- Secure by default.
- Hardening, backups and monitoring are part of the build, not a later phase.
- Design from the user back.
- I start with who uses the thing, then choose the stack.
- Flag problems early.
- If the data is messy or a deadline is at risk, you hear it from me first.
